Hey guys, got another problem here. I threw the power steering / A/C pump v-belt the other day. ('97 DOHC) It just slipped right off the pulley, didnt snap or anything. I got a new one and compared the two and the old one is wore extremely wierd. One side was worn completely away and the belt was kinda turned wierd, like twisted one direction. needless to say i didnt just throw another belt on, i tried to find out what caused the abnormal wear. It appears that the A/C pump pulley is out of allignment with the crank and power steering pullies. It appears to be sligtly pushed toward the drivers side of the car (closer to the engine than the other belts). Is there anyway these can be adjusted? What would even cause the pulley to unallign its self? (and how?) Is the A/C pump bad / bad bearings in it? the pulley spins freely but my A/C doesnt work and cycles constantly (I DO NOT USE IT, or the defrost, i know that would ruin the pump), but i just figured it was out of freon (or R-134, whatever they call it).

I am having the A/C recharged and checked in the near future (couple of days), so I will know if the pumps good or not, but if it is, HOW DO I ALLIGN THE PULLEYS SO THEY DO NOT RUIN MY BELT AGAIN??? Help please!
