02 Grand Caravan ABS light on

My ABS light came on and I had a mechanic look at i and he told me I had a bad tirod, I had that replaced and the light stayed on. We disconnected the battery and still on. Any suggestions. :help:

I would guess that one of your wheel sensors has taken a hit. Probably at the same corner where your tie rod was bad, though not necessarily. There are other reasons the ABS light might be on; this is just the most likely. I don't doubt that you had a bad tie rod, as they are prone to failure. But no mechanic in the world knowingly believes that replacing one will address an ABS issue. I won't go so far as to say you got scammed, because, again, tie rods do go bad, particularly on the long-wheelbase vans. But I'm willing to bet you've got a mechanic who lacks the knowledge/equipment to diagnose brake problems on a modern vehicle. That's unacceptable these days, and tells me this person doesn't seriously want your business. You need to find a new mechanic.
