Hi all,
Well, my daughters 97 Neon was stolen last week. We got it back, but I had to replace the steering column, and now I want to install some type of ignition kill switch. I am thinking about putting a switch inline with the (underhood 30 Amp) starter fuse, would this cause any problems down the line? I have noticed that with this fuse removed, the car is pretty much dead, so I thought this would be a perfect place. If I do this, would it matter which side of the fuse I ‘break’ to put the switch in series with, ie, does one side go directly to the battery, the other side to the starter? If this is not a good idea, does anyone else have any ideas for a similar ‘kill’ switch for this vehicle, which will not damage anything? I have already installed an el-cheapo alarm (funds are limited), but it only detects unauthorized entry. Thanks in advance.
