I have a 2002 2.7L Stratus with about 74,000 miles, and as I was creeping through construction on my way home yesterday, my engine suddenly stopped. The radio and a/c stayed on, and I noticed that the fuel nozzle light on the dash was lit (not the fuel pump light - I had over a half a tank of gas left). I put the car in park and was able to restart it with no problem, but it seemed a little shaky whenever I slowed down until I got out of the construction and was able to give it more gas. Everything seemed fine today, though. Anybody know what was going on?

Yeah, if you mean the one that looks like a thanksgiving gravy boat (red in color) its your low oil pressure light, which comes on when the key is in the ON position but the car isn't running. I had some trouble with my Dakota, emissions related, but you shouldn't have that problem with a newer car!

If that is the light you're seeing^^^ get it checked out ASAP! Driving around with little or no oil pressure is askin for trouble.

The 2.7L engines along with 40% of late 1990's, but pre 2002 dodge engines were machined with smaller then required oil passages causing overheating from sludge buildup. Make sure the oil is changed regularly and the level is checked every 200 miles! If the engine shuts itself off after the oil pressure light is on don't restart the engine without checking the oil level. I read in a post with a link to chrysler, that the average life of the 2.7L engines are no more then 120 000 miles. Well maintained engines will last longer. Earlier 4.7L engines were even worse for sludge problems as the miles roll on. I'd get the engine flushed before you go in for your next oil change just to be safe.
