2002 DGC-ES / 98,000 km

Cluk-Tuk-Kuk-Kuk Noises Underneath...

'Sounds like a couple of billiard-balls trapped below the driver's and front passenger's feet...

It's not so noticable on highways, but occurs on 20 km --> 60 km zones.

'Any suggestions???... Thanks in advance folks.

If it's more pronounced when your making a turn, it might be the CV joints.

Thanks Kilogolf, but it's definitely not the CV joints... I remember that old "CV joints" sound from my friends Sentra... Tok---tok--tok-tok-tok-tok-tok increasing in pitch as you accelerate in a turn... Like woodpeckers in your front axle right???

Naw, this sounds more like little gremlins randomly smacking billiard-balls against the front under-chasis of the vehicle and occurs in bumpy straight-aways, turns, up-hills, down-hills, etc...

Maybe there are gremlins dicking around underneath my van.... Hahaha.

Could it be the front shocks???... It's only a 2002... 'Dunno

You're not reporting any slop in the steering, so I think we can rule out tie rod ends. This vehicle doesn't have shocks, it has struts, and for one of them to make that much noise, it would have to have broken through the top mount. You'd feel that in the steering, BIG TIME, so we can rule that out too.

So I'm guessing sway bar links, or sway bar mounts. Neither is an expensive repair.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I'd look at tie-rod ends or the sway bar links. I remember our van did that and we had to get those two pieces replaced

CORRECTOMUNDO!!!!

I kinda know that sound... heard it before on my van... I replaced the struts and the sound was gone... but I also remember them telling me something about loose tie rod ends at the same time I replaced the struts... not sure if it was the cause of the sound or not.

Hope that helps somewhat...
