If that is the dealer's price. you can either negotiate that price down or just wait and DCX will contact you directly and offer it at a lower price.

I got it when I purchased my 05 RT. The way I figure it is that one major breakdown will pay for it. I'm just not willing to take the risk. Besides, everything from bumper to bumper is covered. Lastly, you need to remember that you can cancel your contract at anytime and get an approporate refund for the time not used. Or at least that was what I was told.

I took it out on my 05' RT and then changed my mind, it took over 3 months to cancel it. Plus you don't get the money back, it goes to the finance company - they just take it off what you owe them.

I don't recommend any extended warranties - If it's a new car you're probably better off taking that money each month and putting it in a 3% earning savings account...

JMO being screwed by Ford on their Ext Warranty. "oh, we can't fix that - it's mechanically attached to a wear-and-tear item which isn't covered."

You know, you spend $800 in case your $500K catches fire.

Then you spend $1500 because you might get a "big repair".

You can do a lot of repairs for $1500.

IMO extended warranty's on anything from a VCR to a Car are a big money maker for the store or dealer. Like somebody said above, the cost of the extended warranty can pay for alot of repairs.

I have always bought the extended warranty and it only takes one "big" repair to pay for itself. My wife's 2001 Intrepid had to have the heads replaced at 50,000 miles. I figure that was about 3,000 bucks. So I was very happy we had bought the warranty. Besides, with a Ram with a 5.7L and 2005 Dakota (wife's new ride) with a 4.7L HO I can't afford to fix anythiong cause it is all going in the gas tank.

I bought it with my 2005 RT.

And it has paid for itself when I had it on a Mazda, Ford and BMW.

I just recently bought an '05 RT under the employee plan. My previous ride was a Cadillac STS. I never liked the idea of buying extended warranties on anything, but I bought one for the STS and man did it pay for itself!

On the RT, I bought the best policy I could. It covers me for 5 years or 100,00 miles. I usually will put on 125,000 miles or more before I trade. The best feature of this policy (like what I had on the Cadillac) is that if you don't use it, you get your money back. I don't think I will go 100,000 miles without using it, but if I do, that's pretty cheap insurance.

Just today I got a mailing form Best Buy for a contract on my plasma computer monitor. I threw it away!
