Yesterday as I was parking I decided to open up the hood. No particular reason except I had forgotten to check where my brake fluid level was after i got my car back. Turns out it was fine, however I noticed the car produces two distinct noises from the engine compartment.
The first is probably normal, I hear clicking above the engine head gasket. Sounds like the contacts at the end of the distributor wire creating spark. The connections are on securely, should i be able to hear this usually?
The second noise is one I cannot identify. It sounds like a pulsating pump noise on the right side rear (if youre facing the engine compartment). It is on the opposite side of the belts and the radiator, right where the brake fluid tank is. There are no leaks that I can detect, the sound is not loud, but Im curious as to what it is. Maybe its just part of the coolant pump, but the noise strikes me as odd. I cannot tell exactly where its coming from even though Ive pressed my ear as close as I could get. I wonder if I can upload videos so I can tell you guys what it sounds like...
