Gang,

I need some pointers. I think I know what the problem may be, but I'd like some ideas. My ol' Ram Van has developed an "in the seat of the pants" vibration. Up around 55-70 mph you can feel & hear a vibration resonating up through the floor of the van. I thought is was the u-joints, so I replaced them...still have the vibration. I checked the motor mounts and transmission mount, all were okay. Now I'm thinking pinion bearing or axle bearings.

Ideas? :help:

Have the same problem..also thought u-joints..didn't fix...my problem is also pending..I'm considering bearings in tail assy. If I find problem, I will be sure to let you know...good luck. :rck:

Yes that would be great!

Wheel bearings tend to do that. I might also check to see if you threw a wheel weight. Are the tires up to pressure? Differential filled up? I'm not familiar with the driveshafts in the vans, but some have weights that can fly off.

Wheel/tires are in good shape, no evidence of flung wheel weights, and the driveshaft weights are still intact. Diff. is full and fluid is clean.

I'm leaning towards axle bearings or front wheel bearings.

Could be the tailshaft bushing and/or bearing? Rear wheel problems are more likely to give "seat of the pants" feelings.
