or how does it come off it is a manual shift

Push down really hard and twist counter clock wise (if i remember right) itll pop off. The spring is tight so keep a good grip so you dont knock your teeth out, and no i didnt find that out on my own :)

In my 98 ACR I took off my shifter knob and put on another one.
If yours is the same set up you can pull down the boot. Look for the two TABS sticking down underneath the Knob pull both sides out away from the PIN in the shifters stick itsself.Then pull up on it. Good luck !!!!

Push down with all your might and twist clockwise (to the right). It will come right off.
