hi,
i have 97 dodge intrepid v6, 3.5L. It overheats while driving. So far two times i changed thermostat. When you start driving it work for while and after few min temp gauge start going up and all coolant came from reservoir overflow hose.

What should I do to check that radiator is chocked?

Is it possible that water pump work sometime and stop working?

With my Intrepid it was blown headgaskets. I had replaced the water pump when I replaced the timing belt, so that was solid. I replaced the radiator just after that. i was commuting 90 miles each way each day. I replaced the thermostat and got the same results as you - drive for awhile but once it's up to temp it keeps going.

Sounds like the head gaskets. I got mine done for $1200.

check your radiator cap. an easy way to tell is if it has very little resistance when turning it on or off
