Got my first door ding today.

Those doors sure are flimsy IMHO.

Red smudge on black paint sho don't look nice.

That sucks. Did you have your doors 'shaved' or was the molding still on?

like it'd matter. Unless a slammed ride pulles next to ya, your stock side moldings aint gardin aganst nada. Just trapping moisture so rust can start early.

I just don't park where careless folks will depriciate my vehicle. When I have to, I jot down the license plate of the car on either side of me just in case. I've never had a door ding on my ride that wasn't paid for by the insurence company of the person who did it.

Yes, these things happen when the wife takes the HEMI to the grocery.

It still has the useless molding.

We had almost the exact same ding on our black Sport Wagon.

Too bad it's too small for the Dent Wizzard. That guy did a wonder with my truck.

Must be a bad day for Magnums because I can one up you! This morning while backing out of my driveway I backed into a trailer parked across the street. I knocked out the right tail light, dented and made a slash hole in the bumper. According to the dealer it is about 1000 bucks. Andy will go in for repairs on Friday...plus the back up sensors in the new bumper...ugh

That $300 sensor kit goes for less than $100 on eBay.

I still haven't figured it out yet, but, I have this super small concave indentation on my roof. No scratches ... nothing.

Actually while Andy will be in the Shop next week (Allstate wanted me to go to a non dealer...i felt that being such a new model the dealer should do it) for two days and the back up sensors (that we were going to put in at christmas (a gift to each other) will be installed then). I am not ebaying that one...I am ebaying the radio though....

Fz,

Wow, just when you think you have it bad....

Your near the theft made me remember my Dad's 67/68 charger, it was the factory hot rod and the last of the ones off the line. We lived on Long Island and my Dad worked in the city. It was stolen after about 6 months...and about a year later a big chopshop ring was on the news and in the shot of their shop was my Dad's charger gutted... :grum:

He ended up with a late green 68 that was all of ours favorite memories...did I mention my dad had four kids and we all made it in the back seat? :hair:

at least you still have your baby, and I have mine, albeit ulgly and in need of the dodge boys! :SPIN:

Sorry to hear about that. As far as parking goes, it seems that no matter where I park
I come out of the store or whatever and there is somebody parked next to me. The thing is a magnet or something. I find a small prayer allways helps.

Thats one good thing about camera phones Grin. If I have to park somewhere and someone is next to me I get a pic of their plate, just in case.

I took my ride to the shop the next day and had them remove my strippings and keep the hemi badge. I admit the car looks way better without the moldings.... Evr since then the way I drive the car has never been the same. i drive her like I robbed a bank. lol The Rt runs very hard with 22's and I have smoked a few on I-80 coming home from the bay to Sac town...

My moto now is BURN RUBBER!! :drivingz:

Does anyone know what type of CIA works well with the borla full cat system? Also, Shall I purchase the resignators or take these off on my next mod... What are the beneifts of the resignators. I had nothing but, chevy's and all I didi was throw some flo's on a str8 pipe.

Thanks.

Does the taking down the lic. plate #'s and reporting it really works? If the car is gone how do you prove it? Especially if you don't know how many other cars have came and gone. Is that for reals?

Even if you take a picture too, how do you prove it to the insurance and what do you say to them? (insurance)

I just double park is what I do. And keep a watchfully eye on my car. If we have to go places where there is gonna be a bunch of idiots that don't give a hoot about your car, then I just take the truck. Because if someone dings my truck while I'm there. Well pay back is a B!TCH cause my suburban door is hella heavy. :-) they don't just get a ding on their doors. If ya know what I mean.

How many of you have noticed that there is only 1 key hole in the entire car ?

I got an intresting story from someone that had an attempt on thier car, they broke the key lock and buggered up the door. Your F'ed if you dont have a remote lock release :)

Okay, please tell me that you don't go around slamming your suburban car door into other peoples cars....it just sounds mean. Maybe I am too much of a girl. I think the whole ding thing drives me crazy because people are just stupid and inconsiderate. I was raised that you don't touch other peoples things unless they tell you that you can...I have raised my two boys this way, and they are 4 and 5. It drives me bonkers when peole say "oh, they can sit on the car or whatever I don't care" well I do and I want my kids to respect things. :o

Dings are ganna happen and we all hate em...such is life.

I had a sizable ding in the crease, no less, below window on door and tried Paintless Dent Repair service for first time ever -- it amazed me! I can't find the ding now and it use to stick out like a sore thumb.

Only safety from dings is to never park alongside others which is impractical.

i got a ding on my D a few months after i got her...i was irate (and for the record, this was BEFORE i shaved the fugly stuck on side moldings!!! those things are ugly AND non functional!!)...anyway..i contacted a Dent Wizard/Dent Removal mobile place a guy referred me too..this dude was awesome..he had all these hand made long rod like tools that he shimmied down the window slot in the door with the window down...very slick...he was able to "push" the dent out no problem...even w/ the thick ass double paned Durango glass!!

And even if you try then somebody always decides that of the ten empty spots around your car they want the one right next to you! :VHOT:

I have used Dent Wizzard in Houston before and they did a great job.

This one is small, so I don't think I'll bother with it for now.

But when you have one of the few black decked out R/Ts in town, it sure feels like a big dent.
