Several of us new SRT8 owners were going to go over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 15th to participate in the "SRT Track Experience" that was included in the price of our new cars. But when we found out about a big LX platform Meet that same day in Huntington Beach, 4 out of 6 of us (one lived in LV anyway) decided to switch our reservations to Laguna Seca up in Monterey, CA. so we could attend the HB function.

So this is an open invitation to any new SRT8 owners, and others, to join in on the fun. We're going to do it on Saturday, November 19th. I have been in contact with the people running the event and have been assured that our GROUP will be able to participate together that day. Now if the GROUP gets too big we will have to break up into two GROUPs, but will all do it that same day.

And this is not limited to SRT owners either. If you are willing to pay the $300.00 fee, anyone can join in on the fun and be able to attend the driving classes and test drive all of the SRT vehicles that day.

I will be trying to find a hotel in the immediate area where we can stay together and, perhaps, host a "Meet-n-Greet" party on Friday the 18th. The Skip Barber people indicated that they may be able to have someone attend that function and give us a little overview and to mingle. I also may have a special guest appearance by "speckler" of the brampton assembly workers website there too but that is totally up in the air as of today. Ralph (speckler) e-mailed me yesterday and indicated that he may have a date conflict but was trying to work it out.

Anyway. That's the deal and we hope to have a bunch of lx and 300 forum members there to represent us. The sooner you make your reservations the better chance of joining the group.

Here is a link to their web site to register. www.srttrackexperience.com. Please e-mail me @ kking3@socal.rr.com if interested and I'll add you to my "SRT TRACK EXPERIENCE GROUP' and make sure you are kept apprised of what is going on.

Just an update.

Since I made this post earlier this week here, and on several other SRT related forums, we now have 7 members confirmed and 2 or 3 waiting for confirmation that they will get delivery of their cars in time for the event. I will be contacting the Embassy Suites in Seaside, CA., which is just a few miles from Laguna Seca, tomorrow to see if I can negotiate a "group rate" for us and will post that info when it is confirmed. I really think that we'll have well over 10, and probably closer to 20, forum members signed up by November 19th.

This should be a lot of fun and probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most of us, to run on this legendary race track. Why not join us in the fun? The more the merrier!

The 19th of November is sold out for Laguna Seca, however the 18th and 20th have openings and you can take advantage of our group rate at the Embassy Suites in Seaside. Just mention the SRT Track Experience and you'll save about $30.00 per night on your stay.

If you want to join in the fun with our group, PM me or e-mail me at the address on the initial post on this thread.

I don't know how many of you guys tracked your build on the Brampton site. (which, BTW has been shut down the last few days) But if you did, you will recognize this name. "speckler" Ralph (and markie and many others) was the one that made that site work and made my wait for my car's build, almost bearable. And then the "suits" got wind of what he and the others were doing and ................... (see this thread for more info about that http://www.300cforums.com/forums/general-discussion/10941-brampton-site-stifled-new-build-info-site-launched.html?highlight=stifled)

Anyway. "speckler" will be flying in from Brampton, Canada to attend our little SRT Driving Experience thing in Monterey, CA. on the 18-20th of November. We'll be having a Meet-N-Greet on the 18th in my suite with (hopefully) representatives from the Skip Barber Driving School/SRT Track Experience Team, plus "speckler"! One of the guys that actually help built every one of our cars. I'm sure that he has a bunch of "anecdotes" about how our cars were built and other related stuff.

I understand that they (SRT Driving Experience) are almost sold out for the entire weekend (18th, 19th & 20th) at Laguna Seca but there are still a few slots available, from what I hear.

Ralph (speckler) is raffling a one off "SRT8 Car of the Year" jacket that was awarded to a select number of Brampton Assembly workers, to help offset some of his travel expenses. (He's not even going to participate as a driver. He has just been monitoring these forums and wants to be there with us!) He's also making up commerative T-Shirts for all those in our Group, that will be collector's items later on.

If you want to join in with our little group and get the free "speckler" commerative T-shirt and a chance in the raffle for this "None like it in the USA" SRT8 jacket, go to my first post on this thread and e-mail me and I'll fill you in on the details about our Group Rate, Private Parking area at the Embassy Suites and our 17 Mile Drive SRT Cruise and......................?

Update time.

We've got 14 SRT8 owners heading to Laguna Seca Raceway on the 19th of November. Now the supporting suppliers from several forums are starting to kick in some stuff for our group. Ron and Frank, at Zoomers, have donated a 25% off coupon for a Zoomers exhaust system. We have T-Shirts for everyone participating, donated by "speckler" (the old Brampton site) from his new site, and still the place to track new LX builds, @ http://www.mylxinfo.com/. I have donated a "limited edition" SRT8" key chain plus some other stuff, and more and more suppliers are stepping up with more items.

Although Nov. 19th is sold out for the "SRT Track Experience" day, there is still room for anyone that wants to join in. You can do the track experience part on Friday the 18th (you'll be the hit of the Meet-N-Greet that night!) or on Sunday the 20th (you guys will have enjoyed two days of feedback!).

We have a "SRT8 - 17 Mile Cruise" planned for Sunday AM, Nov. 20th and a Meet-N-Greet set-up on the evening of Friday, Nov. 18th. And maybe some other stuff too.

If interested in joining in, just PM me.
