Are there any rear gears in the 3.25 to 3.55 range available for the R/T? Wonder if the 3.06 in the SRT works?

There are no ring and pinion options on the market.
In fact the SRT8 3.06 rear housing is a different part number than the RT 2.82.
It should fit but you would have to replace the entire differential.

A lower rear gear would help but the stock 2.82 is not as tall as it sounds. The transmission has a 3.59:1 first gear ratio. To compare that to a GM trans. like the 700r or 4L60 those have a first gear of 3.06:1. This means your LX has the same final drive gearing in 1st gear as a Chevy with 4L60 and 3:31 rear gears.
LX 2.82 x 3.59=10.12
GM 3.06 x 3.31=10.13
Of course that's not a 1/4 mile gear but it's not as bad as most expect after hearing 2.82 rear end gears. Once there are programmers we may have gearing options soon to follow.

A 4.10 would be a granny gear
just for comparisons

A 3.78 rear gear in the LX cars would have the same final drive ratio as a 4.10 gear in a GTO (automatic).
LX 3.59 x 3.78 = 13.57 final drive in 1st
GTO 3.31 x 4.10 = 13.57 final drive in 1st

LX with 4.10 rear would have a final drive ratio of 14.719
this would be the same as a 4.45 gear in a GTO.
You would defiantly need to upgrade the tires
