I have an 87 B250. I've had it for a year now and this problem seems to happen less as time goes by.

When I drive and make a right 90 degree turn and turn the wheel all the way back I hear/feel a loud bang. If I just let the wheel come back around I'll keep going right, until I pull it past a certin point. It is very hard and feels like someone ran into the back of me.

It only happens to me when I turn right and then back left. Not vise versa. It seems to happen less as time goes by. I orginally though it was in the rear end but I'm not sure. Thought it might be missing teeth, but didnt think it would only happen to one side.

Also Do your guy's vans have a Differential leaking problem where the drive shaft come in? Or tranny? I have both. I can't find a place to check if my differential has fluid either. I have the floor of my van cut out so I can see the entire thing. Am I just overlooking it?

cant say as to the bang;but you are OVERlooking the differental plug.if you get on your knees at the back door and look at the rear of the differintal, should see a plug or kind of a torx head looking thing.use a ratchet on some of these plugs some are rubber;not sure as to your specific vehicle.

Check the mounting of your steering box. Make sure the all the bolts are tight and that the frame isn't rotted out where it mounts.

If diff. fluid is leaking out of the front of the rear, then you need to replace the pinion seal. Remove the large nut holding the yoke to the pinion gear and slide the yoke off...this will expose the seal. After you replace the seal, install the yoke and torque the nut down 180-200 Ft./lbs.

There is also a seal at the back of the transmission. If you have trans. fluid leaking out, you'll need to replace this seal as well.
