hi all. first time poster..
I have a 90 ramcharger 318 that I just bought used and I have a problem I need help with. upon acceleration, (in drive) the engine stumbles to the point of stalling until I remove my foot from the accelerator. In park, I can rev the engine without hesitation. I don't see any broken vac lines, but this thing has been abused by plowing, so it probably hasnt been maintained. I think its a TPS sensor or MAP, but I wanted to hear if anyone else had this problem. the computer is throwing a 37 code which isnt related to this. (I think)
any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site. You will learn alot here. I have. I would probably try giving it a tune-up and resetting the pcm (if your truck has one).

thanks for the welcome!
how do you reset the PCM? I would like to start with a clean slate and I didn't think you could reset the codes.
I appreciate all help!

I got this from speedtweaks .net.

How to Reset the PCM:
•Disconnect NEG Battery Terminal
•Turn the ignition key to the START position and hold for 15-20 seconds
•Release key (OFF) and reconnect the battery

When should I reset the PCM:
If you change items such as the Throttle Body, Headers, Ignition System (or any internal parts with aftermarket, performance parts), then you should reset the PCM. Items such as: Plug Wires, Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Muffler, and Air Filter (not intake...filter) don't require this at all. The PCM will gradually relearn as you drive anyway...that takes about 200 miles for a complete long-term learn.

HOPE THIS HELPS :)

Sounds like you have the very common problem of a bad EGR valve transducer.

After the truck is warmed up and running; open the throttle manually from under the hood and watch the stem of the EGR valve. It should just barely open as you move the throttle off of idle. If the valve stem jumps wide open, simply unplug the vacuum line to the valve for now until you can repalce the EGR and transducer as they are sold together.

Hope this helps:)
