What year is that van? I have a sliding door extender around here somewhere brand new in the box.

I remember when they used to do that .....

and weld the back doors together and do it back there as well ....

I remember too, as a matter of fact I was one of the first ones to do it in the mid 70's :D

Bubba_Hemi
08-26-2005, 05:13 AM
Now that's a pimp interior... even though it looks like a load was dropped on top of it. lol

How much room do you have between the wheel and the leaf springs? You could put a wider tire/wheel on, but have the offset towards the inside of the wheelwell. That way the wider tire won't stick out past the wheelwell lip and hit the door.

RAM MAN
08-26-2005, 04:39 PM
plenty enough room for that way

I guess when the time comes, I'll have to make sure I get someone that knows backspacing ...

its not a Dodge, but you get the idea of the sliding door extender...

I did find one on eBay once, and emailed the seller, but he said the extensions he was selling that were made for Dodge would not fit my application ...

I was told by a number of fellow vanners that the door extender could be cut and lengthened by a good welding shop. Dodges3, do you go to van-ins? That Ford in your pic is a friend of mine. His last name is Scull (sp?), so he goes by the handle Bonehead. That Ford is something. He's owned it since new ('75 I think?) and it's been thru a number of changes. His latest modification is shoehorning a '99 turbo deisel in the engine compartment. Go here to read more about it: http://www.showtrux.com/showvans/bonehead/index.html To see other cool vans of all brands check out this link: http://www.showtrux.com/showvans/index.html Just click on the year, then on the van you want to see. And people think vanning is dead or just a bunch of old hippies with shag carpet?!

Hey Ram Man. I just got my new rims and rubber. Sorry no pics yet. You will have to wait till after VANFEST. But, they are 15x8's w/275-60-15 in the rear, and 15x7's w/255-60-15's up front. The slider does just rub....Brad

Ya it really sucked. I appreciate you saving me spot and all. I was so p.o.'d. Worst thing was, I was only about a half hour from home, not actually heading for Alymer, but doing my bi-weekly smoke run, down in Brantford area. We were going to take backroads from there to VanFest, but ya know....

Now that I've seen my e-mail, I'm more PO'd for not making it there. Damn it, I new we should have transferred everything into my minivan, and still made the trip. I'm just not sure if the cv joints would have been with us.....

No problem Ram Man. I work afternoons (3-11pm) this week mon-thur. Do you have standard times for your driving schedule, to and from Brampton, Dually....

Ram3500Dually
06-26-2006, 09:09 PM
Well, kinda, LOL. I have to load first at Veltri and that is a chore. If everything goes good and the lazy SOB's wanna work then I am out of there at 10:30 AM. If they don't wanna work I don't get out of there till 11-11:30. I am 2 hours to hit the Woodstock service plaza. 55 minutes after that I am at the 320 at Milton. So that puts me about 2 and a half hours to where you are at. PM or email me a phone number that I can reach you at tomorrow about noon and I can tell you exactly where I am and how long to get to wherever you wanna meet on the 401. I know I am running for sure tomorrow, don't know about Wednesday or Thursday yet.
