So there I was..... driving down the freeway and saw this Malibu (21ft at least) Competition Ski boat going down the freeway with no vehicle in front of it. I quickly speed up to see what the deal was and I swear this is what I saw....

a Magnum R/T with 22" spinners towing a 21ft Competition Ski boat at 75MPH down the freeway.

At first I was like "what moron would tow a boat with his car?" Then as I though to myself.... "That's one hell-of-a car if it can tow a 21ft Ski Boat down the freeway at 75mph"

So now I am curious... do you tow with your magnums? If so...what?

That's the kind of enthusiasm I wanna see! If I had a competition ski boat, I would tow it with my Mag. :rck:

I have an 05 RT with the tow package and factory hitch. We use it to tow our 4 wheeler and 2 dirt bikes from the Detroit area to upper lower Michigan. The total trip is around 250 miles. It tows like a dream and even gets 20 to 21 mpg. I think it tows better than my wifes 04 Envoy.

I towed the Cobra II I picked up in California, for about an hour, but it was too much weight for the suspension. After an hour, the tongue of the trailer wasn't more than an inch off the ground. Sucks too, because the engine pulled it a hell of alot better than the uhaul truck I had to rent did. The engine could more than take the weight. There were no tow dolly's available for rent, so I had to get a full trailer. If I could have gotten a dolly, it would have been no problem at all, because the weight would have been on the Cobra, not the Magnum. I guess the stock suspension wasn't designed to have 4500lbs+ resting on it.

On the plus side, I did manage to get over 28MPG!?!?!!! The way there I averaged 22, but the way back, somehow (I guess keeping at about 65-70 probably did it), even through the mountains, I topped out at 28.3. I didn't get a picture of that, but I did get a picture of the 28. It was rediculous.

it still blows me away the pulling capacity of the Magnum. The motor is equiped to tow large loads, but as you said the suspension needs worked if your towing.

I think I've found my new car when I'm done with my RAM.
