I have a 96 Intrepid with Drum brakes on the rear. I've got 123K miles on the car and it is running fine. The current problem I am having is this.
The Actuator Lever keeps coming off on the right wheel. I have put it back on three times now. What appears to be happening is that the adjusting screw screws all the way in so the brake is hardly contacting. After it screws all the way in, there is not enough tension on the Actuator link spring to hold the Actuator Lever on. I'm thinking I have the self adjuster on backward but I checked it against the left wheel and it looks right. If anyone can tell me how this should look or send me a digital image of a correctly attached self adjuster on the right side of a 96 Intrepid that would be greatly appriciated.
If anyone has any other ideas what might be causing this, I will be glad for any ideas.
Thanks again.
