I was in an accident back in June, where my 95 Neon body on the passenger side was completely destroyed.

Now, since it's just the body that has been destroyed, all of the parts on the car are in great condition, there was minor problems with the vehicle, but besides that, car ran great and it was an awesome first little car to have. From the picture, you can tell fixing it, would be completely stupid. The damage done is way more then the car itself was even worth.

Now, I've been searching for 1995-1997 Dodge Neon's, since those years, used parts together and I would be able to use my other Neon as a spare parts car.

Wouldnt let me post at once.

I was able to find a 95 Dodge Neon Sedan 4-Door, Standard, 149k miles, which is basically the car I hads twin, except my car had 189k miles. It was a little missleading, from what the site actually says.

The alternator in the car I guess had freezed over in Winter, and the car has sat there since a little before winter, when I asked the guy to jump start the car from a battery pack, the car was able to start, so I know in fact taking the alternator from my 95 Neon and putting it in that, would work. I was also able to get the dealership to bring the price down from 995 to 700.

Basically, everything I've explained, to me sounds like a good plan--money wise and common sense wise, since my neon that I was in an accident in, is worth nothing but parts. I'd just like to know what anybody on here might have to think on this, giving my situation and everything I've said.

Thanks.

Actually, all the 1995-1999 bodies were the same, comparing coupe-to-coupe and sedan-to-sedan of course. If you have room for the spare parts car, it makes perfect sense.

If the "new" car has not had the timing belt done (supposed to be 105k miles), might consider doing that pronto. You could part out stuff you'll probably never need - interior parts, seats, air conditioning parts, power steering stuff, wiring harness, etc. - and just about make the $700 you're spending on the new one. It may be worth it to you to keep the old motor and rebuild it as time allows, then just swap it in should anything happen to the current one. Gives you the opportunity to upgrade parts if you're looking for more performance as well.

Best of luck!
