here is some pics of the new van. I was so excited to work on her that i didn't get a picture before I started the bodywork. It has a 273 with 71k miles. Right now we are having timing issues. I went through two replacement distributors that were defective before ordering the mopar electronic ignition conversion kit. should be here friday.

You will be MUCH happier with that electronic ignition.
It's still weird that your engine's timing tab is gone.....I hate shoddy mechanics.

It is pretty solid. It had a whole lot of surface rust, but a knotted wire wheel and an angle grinder have taken care of that. there were are a few spots that rusted through in the fenders, and under the headlights, but nothing that wasn't fixable. I was really surprised to find one in this good fo shape in chicago. I have been looking for a forward control van for awhile, and I found her in a vacant lot tucked away downtown next to a '66 cuda and a mini cooper. I brought her home for $500. I would have put the cooper in the back and brought it to but he wanted 10x as much for it.

well i got rid of the rust and threw on a coat of paint. X-O Rust Bright Red, True Value's version of Rust Oleum. A good 20mph or 20ft job. I sold my house monday, so I had to paint it quick. now i don't have a garage... =(

It's funny, with no mirrors on the highway and no brake lights, i was waving my arm out the window like a madman giving handsignals while getting it to my new place after the paintjob. I am sure I looked like a complete idiot. or crazy person.. or both.
