As ya'll know Neons headlights like to turn yellow. me and a buddy were messing around with his (painted eyelids) and some of the clearcoat got sprayed onto the lense and where it was yellow went clear again so we sprayed both his headlights and mine with a rattlecan clearcoat and sure enough a week later they still have no yellow tint on the outside but my passenger side has a lil yellow still on the inside. Just thought I would pass this lil trick along

Just wondering.
Does that effect the lens of the light? I mean reduce the light emmitting or direction of the light.
I know the lights can be expensive.

I haven't noticed anything except brighter lights due to not being yellowed, its clear paint so there is no tint to dull the light coming out

ok cool.
I have heard of some ppl sanding the plastic. I just think that would form like a hazy film over the light. But if you polish it I guess it would work.

I've heard the same thing about sanding it down and then polishing it. Has anybody tried this before?

Yeah that works but you just got to make sure ya don't scuff the lense bad and last time I did that it was about a month later I was doing it again.I'm not saying that the clearcoat is a perminate fix but it has been a lil over a month and still my lights are not yellowed like they were

If You Want To Get The Yellow Out From The Inside Take, Your Headlights Out And Drop Some Denture Cleaner In The Inside Of The Headlight With Some Water. We Did This All The Time At The Salvage Yard I Worked At.....i Know It Sounds Crazy But It Works.

I used a swirl mark remover polish that i got from napa to take out minor scratches and swirl marks in the paint, and that worked wonders. I just wiped it on, polished the lense and wiped it off. I used it on my headlights, bumper lights, turn signals, and taillights and now they all look like new.

The white rubbing compound works pretty good too. Another thing I noticed the other day that worked on my Ram Van was tire/wheel cleaner. I was cleaning some grease spots off of my hood and accidentally got some on the headlights, then I noticed the liquid running off of the lights was yellow. I wiped the headlights and they were clear again.
