1979 warlock pwrwgn trans help

I am looking at a 79 d150 pwrwgn to purchase. Owner asking 1900.00

Everything on truck is in ok working order except the trans.
Trans is 3spd auto. IT is the 2nd trans for this truck.

All forward gears work.

REVERSE DOES NOT WORK!!!

Talked with 3 different trans shops, got 3 diff. scenerios ranging from a simple band adj. to replacing acylnder in trans, to teardn and replace gears , varios other parts.

HELP!!!
what is truck worth w\this problam??

If the Warlock looks good and is a true Warlock I would pay that for it. 727 problems are few and far between. Not too bad to replace. just my $.02

ditto. reverse is almost always the first to go in a torqeflite. i would have it rebuilt rather than buy a used one. either way will probably cost the same, so why not?
