My wife has a 94 3L Intrepid with 76K on it. It starts and runs fine, but once it gets warmed up, 90% of the time it just shuts off. Everything else keeps working, there is no stumble, you don't even know the engine is off unless you see the engine light on the dash, or step on the gas. It usually won't start until the car is cool, then it starts right up! It shows no codes, I replaced the auto shut down relay anyway, still the same. Took it to a good local auto diagnostic shop, they ran it until it quit and tried to get a code and do some basic trouble shooting over several days, they couldn't find anything. Other that just replacing stuff, does anyone have an idea????

Does the vehicle stall only when your foot is off the accelerator???? If so remove the throttle body and clean the throttle blades and remove the idle speed motor and clean out the idle port....

It doesn't matter if you on the gas or not, it's more like shuts down than stall. It just stops running, no stumble or anything like that. When you not on the gas you wouldn't know it except if you see the engine light, or sept on the gas.

A bad MAP sensor is usually the problem. The reason it happens only after warm up is because the engine control doesn't use the MAP data for timing advance and in fuel/air mixture control until it warms up usually 5 to 10 minutes. Then the engine will misfire on acceleration or outright stall at any speed. The sensor mounts to the back of the intake manifold.

I'll check it out, it doesn't ever misfire, always runs fine, then just shuts down, again there is never any error code, I'll let you know, thanks.

Try the crankcase rotation sensor it is on the tranny. Mine used to do that when I was really pushing it .

It is either the crank position sensor (located on the bell housing), or the Cam position sensor (located up by the thermostat housing) on the 3.3L engine. The do send inputs to the computer but do not have fault codes associated with them that you can get off of the check engine light. My wife's 93' Caravan did the same thing and it was the crank sensor. Good luck!
