DAmn the old ones have a mad TINY HOLE!!! i heard about that.that the headers on the Dodge Ram truck are very restrictive which is why even with shorty headers you gain so much horsepower! sweet hows the Throttle response now?

Thanks guys.
"SportzRam989" P.M. sent to you check your mail.
Oh man yeah All day yesterday after the install i must have went all over the city driving around. I feel of the Throttle is so totally different.
I can't hardly wait for SuperChips to release their Mod for the 05 Dakota's.
I think the next thing I add will be a new 70mm Throttle Body unless the Superchip comes out with theirs first... But if not a new TB for even more throttle response would be sweet.
Does anyone not know how to post links here?

I got a question for ya.
I already asked JBA and they dont have the Y-Pipe yet for my truck and i get same results emailing others to.
My question is:
With the 2005 Dakota's and this Y-Pipe stock setup is it possible for me to take it back to the exhaust shop and have them cut the Y part off?
If they cut both pipes after the sensor and before the bending of the mating is it possible to run dual exhaust instead of a single High Flow Muffler?
Also i was hoping that someone may know this answer as well. When dealing with the o2 sensor why is there only 1 of them on this Y-Pipe and not 2, one on each pipe.
So what are your thoughts on this thought I had?
Do you see any problems that I may have trying to attempt this?
Would I run into sensor problems?
Thanks for helping and any help or suggestions would be helpful.
Jim.

Custom Exhaust shops can do anything you ask them too.....especially if your a good lookin girl like my sister!!!!!!!!!!! I'm jealous of her, the other day she Went to Lou's custom exhaust and got a HEaders Back Exhaust for FREE!!!!!!!!!!! HOW? cause shes "hot" and has a baning Srt-4, yea well its still not fair.......it sounds so pretty to.......No Cats No Resonators, Straight Pipes all the way Back. And no you probably wont have sensor problems, as long as the custom shop did it right.

Thank you for the reply.
Man how do you get an exhaust shop to remove the Cats??
I've asked and their like no I'm sorry we can't do that.
I guess your right. If i were a pretty woman I could probably get anything i wanted. Damn,... Men are suckers. :D
I'm going to stop at the exhaust shop on the return from taking my wife to the airport today for an est on cost and I'll probably make an appointment to have it done. I just got an email confirming that JBA doesnt have the High Flow Y-Pipe.
Thanks again for your help.

Well once you get familiar and good friends with someone that does custom exhaust I think you can find someone to do it for you, and do a nice job at that. I mean hey maybe you can even bribe them who knows, but theres gotta be someone in Florida thats willing to do it for you.

jim, i picked up some mendrel bends online and random tech 8100 bullet series high flow cats. they still are able to fit in the stock location but outflow the stockers no problem. unlike you i don't have time to get my packages otherwise the headers would be on :( damn u.p.s...
so now the set-up goes from custom cat-back to jba's/randomtech, y-pipe eliminated to dual in dual out dumped. no more nice tips for me :)

Well i just returned from the exhaust shop alittle bit ago and what I think we've decided to do was to cut the Y off and just run Dual Flowmaster 40's out the back and connecting the two mufflers to the existing dual tail pipes.
They said messing around with the stock converters will cause problems with the sensor readings and stuff which that i already knew. Since i cant cut the Cat's off I think having each side a free flow to muffler will be better than that POS Y-Pipe in the middle of everything.
So come Monday afternoon I'll have once again and new exhaust setup on my truck.
Anyone Want to Buy a Single In Dual Out Flowmaster Deleta Flow 40 Muffler with about 500 miles on it?
I wonder how much louder the normal 40 series is vs. the delta flow version...
I've watched the videos but you can never really tell until you hear it in real life.
Let me know your thoughts.

2 40's with no cats!!! You will seriously need to invest in some ear plugs  The resonantion in the cabin will be incredible. :gr_patrio

Naw man the cat's will still be there,.. Were just going to cut the Y off and make it a true dual exhaust.
How do you think it'll be with the cat's on?
I was thinking of getting the delta flows again because they have LESS resonation then the normal 40 series.
I need some help or suggestion if you think this is a bad idea guys,...
Monday morning will be here before i know it...

I just read on another post that if I run True Duals off the converters I'll need an X-Pipe or I'll lose bottom end.
Is this true?
Does the x-pipe go before or after the mufflers?
Jim.

Before....not sure if its true though

I think i understand it now. I did a bit of research after reading the post.
From what i've read an H-pipe would be the way to go vs. and X-pipe it goes after the converters and before the mufflers. they say an H-pipe is used to = out the exhaust pressure.
Why this is needed or how it actually works when dealing with HP or Torque I still dont understand that but i can't find an article that doesnt talk about not using one.
Okay no biggie i hope.
Jim.
