I just got some M3 style mirrors for my 2000 Dodge Neon, but like most cheap stuff sold on Ebay there were no instructions sold with the mirrors. I have figured out how to get them on the door n all....but I don't know where I connect the wiring for the turn signal lights that are on the mirrors.

So all I need is help on where to connect the wires to turn on the turn signal lights on the mirrors, any help? I've already e-mailed the seller but I doubt he'll be of much help.

Please note these are manual mirrors, so the only wiring is for the lights.

You can just tap into the normal blinker wiring. Best location would probably be the side marker lights. You'd have to figure out on your own which is hot and which is ground though... and are there just two wires?

Best of luck!

There are no side markers on a 2000 dodge neon, but it did come with a bunch of wiring all wound up so maybe they expect me to string it all the way to the front turn signals. Kinda lame if you ask me, especially when this is supposed to be an "easy" install according to the seller.

Anyway, there are 3 wires, black, white, and blue. The lights on the mirrors can either be amber, or blue depending on the wiring, so I'm guessing black is ground, and blue is blue and white is amber. Just a guess though, damn it'd really be nice to have some f*cking instructions!

I'm 99% certain you are correct on the wires and their colors.

I don't know too much about the wiring of 2nd gens, but on 1st gens blinker wiring the light green wire is for Left signal, and the Tan wires is for right. I would think it would be the same, but then again, these are neons we're talking about.

But where are the tan and green wires? I'm still lost as to where I'm supposed to connect the wiring up to.

They should connect to your blinker pod. Just take the steering wheel console apart and you should be able to see where the wires go under the column.

hmm...ok maybe I'll try that. Not sure if you know the answer, but would you think the lights will stay on when the parking lights are on? Or only blink with the blinkers? I really want to hook it up so that not only do they blink with the blinkers, but stay lit at night when my lights are on.

I don't know. You could always just tap into the wire to see how they work before you solder and make everything permanent.

I'm not into "bling" on neons, so I really don't know much about those lights, but I think I read somewhere that you can only have them always on (with your lights) or use them with your blinkers. Don't quote me on that, but I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Hey Just To Let You Know I Have The Same Lights And If You Hook Up Say Just The Blue Ones For The Turn-signals Then You Can Use The Amber For The Parking... Did You Have To Cut Any Plastic????? I Did That Pissed Me Off... I Dont Understand Why They Sell Somthing That Doesnt Fit. Its Beyond Me//// Just Thought You'd Want To Know Though

You could splice into your parking light or headlight wiring if you want them on all the time (when your lights are on). I dont know if you'll be able to have them on with the lights and blink with your blinkers though. I'm sure its possible but I dont have any idea how to wire it, lol. (just my opinion, but i think they'd look better on all the time, like wired to the parking lights.) Good luck.

Wow my old thread, almost forgot about it....kinda like I forgot about installing those mirrors haha...I'll get em on eventually.

I do also have to cut part of the plastic, it looks like the morons that made the piece for neons put one of the longer plastic things where the shorter one should have been. I think it'll be fine if I just cut it and get a longer screw for the shorter one, but it pissed me off too and cause I got them from E-bay, ended up getting a refund so I only paid about $8 total....not bad if you ask me :)

But yes I still have to install them, and after looking at the wiring, what I thought was a lot, it's actually not much at all. I'm almost wondering if I'll need more wiring just to go through the door to the steering wheel because it doesn't look like much wire at all!! I think if wire them with the turn signals I should get what I want because they are always on and blink with the blinkers, but I might need more wire for that, and I hope the voltage n everything is okay. I wouldn't want to blow out the bulb in the mirrors. Also, somebody mentioned about soldering, but I was just planning to use regular black electric tape, or maybe some of those plug things. That'd be fine right? might be kinda ghetto, but it's not like I have anything under the hood to show off in the first place :grum:

Well I Used The Twist And Tape Methode That Worked Well I Also Have The Ones With The Power Tilt Which Was Alot Easier To Installte Then The Turn Signal. Its Easiest To Go Into The Stearing Colume But I Couldnt Find The Ground So I Wired It To The Frame Which Worked Well Enouph. Only One Light Will Work At A Time.... I Have The Blue With The Turn Signal But I Dont Know What Wire Was For The Parking Lights..... The Right Wire Is The Tan And The Left Is The Solid Green Be Really Carefull When You Disconnect The From The Plastic Connester B/c It Is Crapy And Brakes If You Figur Out Which Wire The Parking Lights Are Then Please Let Me Know. Yes You Do Need To Use More Screws Then They Give You And Yes You Do Need To Cut That One Screw Hole .... And More Wires But When Its Done It Does Look Cool. Welp Good Luck And Let Me Know How It Turns Out... Peace
