I was looking on Consumer Reports and they have a section where they list recalls, many, many recalls. And the 93 Dodge Intrepid and Eagle Vision had a recall about the suspension.( I thought ours was included until I checked the door, 5-93, but I thought I would continue with this post) It said front-suspension failure could cause loss of steering (3000 cars made 6-92 through 8-92). And CR also said have dealer replace front and rear strut-bar washers and nuts. If a 93 or any year has a recall, can you still take it to a dealership and get it fixed for free. I imagine this could happen to many people, you buy a 95 model in 98 but have no idea there was a recall because the recall probably happened soon after it was built or sent to dealerships. Is there a time limit on bringing a car back for a recall?

Yes I am pretty sure it is the law that they have to fix it. Just call ahead, mainly to make sure they have the parts in stock.

Thanks for taking time to respond Tazz. I just hope more people will check reputable sources like Consumer Reports to see if their vehicle has any recalls and to make more informed decisions on their next vehicle, there's just too much available information not too.

It doesn't matter how old the car/truck/van is, if there is an outstanding recall (one that has not been performed) the dlr. has to do it.

We have done many recalls on POS vehicles, that should not be out on the road...

But like Tazz411 said "call ahead, when you make your app, make sure the dlr has parts available.. "
