Hey guys,

I have an oil leak on the right bottom side dripping from the axle. I have replaced the main seal, new tranny etc...I have just replaced the power steering unit also...so no leaks there. My suspicion is that it is the rear valve cover gasket? Yeah? I can't see back there. I had the pan gasket replace within the last 18 months too...doesn't mean it was a reliable job. I cleaned the pan, the axle, and anywhere I saw oil on the bottom and took a 5 mile cruise and came back and I had drips on the passenger side bottom? Valve cover?

thanks ahead of time,
Chris Fruit

What engine do you have? Sounds like I have a similar issue on my 2000 voyager (3.0 v6 engine). I'll let you know what I find, if anything?

I didn't go into looking that hard for the leak yet but I think mine's dripping down through the oil pan.

hey bw,

I have begun to ask questions and it can either be leaking from the timing gasket or the pan. I actually tightened the back valve cover gasket and it has slowed some. But I don't see any substantial leak coming from the upper backside of the motor. My guess is it is a combination of all three with the pan being the major culprit. I have yet to ask the labor on pulling the pan gasket. My suspiscion is that it will be 4 or 5 hours.

thanks for posting,

bw,

I meant that the labor on the timing gasket may be 4 or 5 hours.
