Tachometer?

[Adapter]

I'm new to the neon and new to cars. My neon is a 2000.

I have purchased the autometer tachometer addapter and will be connecting the 4 wires comeing out of it as follows:

1. Solid red on the adapter to Green wire with brown trim on the coil harness side of the green/brown wire.

2. Red wire with green trim on the adapter to green wire with brown trim on the coil pack side of the green/brown wire.

3. Grey wire to green wire coming out of tachometer

4. Black wire to ground

Correct me if any of these connections are wrong.

The 4 wires comeing out of the back of the tachometer will be connected as follows:

1. Green wire from tachometer will be conected to grey wire from tachometer adapter.

2. Black wire to ground

3. It sais in the instructions to connect the red wire out of the tachometer to "12v ignition switch (+)" but I don't know where that is or what color wire it would be. Can someone give me a clue?

4. It sais in the instructions to connect the wite wire out of the tachometer to "12v dash lighting" but, again I don't know where that is or what color wire it would be. I'll need some help with this one too.


Could someone be so kind as to enlighten me as how to install this tachometer. If anything I have stated is incorect please do not hesetate to correct me.
