Front to back wiring

I'm about to wire an electric brake controller into my '99 GC. What is the simplest way to route the wiring from the front to the back of the vehicle. I guess the correct solution would be to remove the carpet and place it in the wiring channel that runs down the centre but this looks to be a bit of a pain.

Is there an easier route?

You don't have to run it down the center of the car. Along the side, there should be rails and factory wires. Just follow them.
