I have a full size 1999 150 van with a 3.9. It has about 77k miles and is a great vehicle. It has always run very cool in any weather and any driving conditions. In 100 degree plus weather it never heated up until recently. During in town driving and idling it still runs very cool. On the highway and pulling a light trailer it now sometimes heats up to over 210 on the guage. It never did that before in any type driving. Once it heats up it will immediately cool back down to normal any time you slow down to 60 mph or slower. Any info on what is causing this would be appreciated.

210 is fine really....it's when she starts creeping up around the 230-240 range that I would start to get concerned. If your really worried try changing the thermostat it could be sticking a little. Also keep in mind that a van with the 3.9 isn't going to have a very big radiator so you can try going to a larger radiator if you wanted to.

210 is an ok temp.
I would check the fan cluth, I've gone thru a couple in then life of my van so far.
See if it spins loose when its hot, its supposed to get stiffer when its warm.
Couldnt hurt to flush the radiator too if been warmer then usual.
