Hi everyone. Recently got a 91 250 w/Cummins turbo'd w/intercooler. Replaced bad (semi-grenaded) injection pump w/junkyard one from larger earlier truck. Runs great but never develops more then 2-3 punds of boost so says my boost gauge which i believe is accurate. Loses power towing when climbing grade. Don't see anything that looks like a wastegate. Pulled hose from intake and turbine on intake side of turbo looked fine to me. Filters fresh. Lift pump new. Any ideas?

you might have a leak in your intercooler or tubing,if you get white smoke(fuel filter) black smoke(air filter) 91 trucks do not have a wastegate. finally pump might be wrong(larger earlier truck)????????????. how many miles

Hi, Thanx for your help How can you have a turbo w/no wastegate? What's supposed to limit the boost? Truck has 170K miles Made a sorta attempt to check for leaks in the intercooler and routeing, found none , not absolute, but no huge leaks. Would you think worn turbo or insufficient fuel from injector pump to build boost?
