Massive tranny meltdown

I have a 2002 with 55000 miles and the other day while dirving the car the tranny just crapped out. I could not go forward or in reverse, after the tranny was dicected it was reavealed that a lack of cooling to the planetary gears was the problem. It cost 2200 to get it fixed, and the shop bypassed the radiator and put in a separate cooler fot the tranny. Has this happened to anyone else or am I just unlucky? Also had a check engine light for code 441 whick is supposed to be for evap sys and now it is gone and has not come back? :help:

Sorry to hear about the transmission problems you had. Unfortunately modern Mopar transmissions seem to be a weak link.

That evap code you got could be related to a loose fuel cap....which will trip a code.
