This might save you some time

Cut and Pasted from an earlier post

Here's the steps you need to follow:
Find an unused section of road with a good spot to pull-off/turn-around. (make sure it's deserted or you could end up adding a ticket to the time/gas costs of trying this trick!)

1.Pull off of the road and shut your car off.

2.Turn your key to the "On" position (but don't start the car), and wait for the 'idiot' lights to go out.

3.Press down on the accelerator, and let it back up.

4.Turn your car off.

5.Re-start your car and cruise up and down the road testing your throttle responsiveness.

Depending on how fast/slow you do the 4th step, your throttle will either become more or less sensitive/responsive.

Repeat steps #1 through #5 as needed until you're satisfied that your throttle response is as good as it's going to get.

I have not had the chance to actually test the procedure but seat of the pants response does seem to change.

OK, question. "Depending how fast/slow you do step #4"

Now my question is, Do you want to turn off as fast as you can after step #3 or wait a little then turn off?? Also, do you have to drive it first or can do follow these steps upon first getting into your car?

I have and I'm one of those that thinks it works. There are some non-believers. There really is no official word or concrete evidence that this DOES work, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't worry about how fast I turn off the key. I worry about how quickly I mash it down and let it go. I think the time between flooring the pedal and letting it release is what counts. I mash it down and slide my foot off to the left and let it go so it returns real quick then shut off the key switch.

Cool, thanks. Doesn't hurt to try this. If it does work cool, if it does not work, oh well. It's not like I lost any $$$ right? Thanks flhthemi. I'll try it.

I have tried to do this step really slow and I didn't get any different results. I want this to be true but I have to admit everytime I do it I feel like its some part of an OCD ritual.

Like I said...there is no REAL proof this works.

But *I* think does.

...But *I* think does.Me too. The effect was dramatically noticeable after a battery disconnect. Otherwise it might or might not be so gut-punching, depending on where your throttle responsiveness is after ordinary driving.
