what 5 speed transmission willl fit on my 2.4L dodge strartus!!!! and how hard of a swap is it

PT Cruisers have a 2.4L engine and have a 5spd manual option. This trans. would probably bolt right up, BUT not sure about linkages and mounts.
Didn't Stratus' have a manual transmission option?

Well it all depends on which years you mean, if youmean the 95-00 ie 1st gen then there are 5spd strats you can get the tranny and pcm from or get a neon tranny and pcm, however with the neon you will lose a little bit of speed due to a dif gearing. If you have a 2nd gen 01-current, you will have to either find the PT or the strat with it, i dont think that the new neons willfit the new strats.

take a look on stratusphere.org. there has been plenty members that have the 2.4 that have done the swap. I have read that they use the Neon RTs 5 speed

yera but with the neon rt tranny i will lose power instead of gaining it

Why not try and find a 5spd out of an SRT-4? They have the 2.4L engine and I'm sure the trans. is geared aggressively.

I think the final drive is just as high in the RT tranny than the SRT4 tranny.

I'm pretty sure the 2.4 in the '01+ Stratus' are Mitsu motors, whereas the 2.4's in the PT's and SRT-4's are Chrysler motors. I'd be browsing the boards at 2gStratus.org (http://www.2gstratus.org/) or eclipseforums.org (http://www.eclipseforums.org/) or Club3g.com (http://www.club3g.com/forum/index.php?).

hes talking about the 1gsedan not a 2g coupe and the 1gsedan 2.4 isnt the mitsu motor. the 2gsedan 2.4 is also not a mitsu motor

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
My bad then. I dunno nuthin' about that motor. If it is the same as the SRT-4, I'd be looking at that trans too. DCM put a lot on technology into that from what I hear. While you're at it, swap the head and bolt up that turbo! :D
