Yo whats up. Im 17 and just now attained the title of being a senior in high school haha. But anyway before i was drivin a 99 durango, and absolutely loved it. partially because im big, 6'6" and im a fan of the V8 ya know, but who isnt. So my moms been drivin an 02 BMW 330ci and has started havin back problems so she moved to sell the car. Bought an 05 Durango Limited HEMI. So of course the bills are gona raise, which means SELL MY DURANGO. I've enlisted in the Air Force about a couple months ago :gr_patrio . My father promised me if i get college paid for, which i am, he will buy me a car up to $20,000, so i figure that this is the time that i will get it. NOPE. MY MOM goes out and finds this neon sxt with the "SRT Design" which consists of the hood and the wing ya know, which i mean doesnt look bad. but im PISSED. so im driving this little ass 140 hp neon for my senior year. Just got a job payin 12 bucks and hour 40 hours a week and i really want some ideas on what i can do with this car. in 15 months im gettin a 01 Trans Am WS6 so im patiently waiting. but the reason my mom bought this car is because my now freshmen brother will start driving soon and she knows how i drive so she wants him driving a 4 cyl so she bought him this car for him to drive when he gets his license. but anyway im tinting the windows 35% all the way around in about a week. and i was thinking about droppin some 17" black with silver lip on there, because my car is black. and i mean that should just set it straight, i feel that i wont look as bad in it anymore ya know, no offense to neon enthusiasts out there. please help with more ideas, i can do anything that doesnt void the warranty. any help is appreciated. sory for the long story

35 tint is good, but drop the 17z and go 18. i have an 04 black neon with 18z gun metal with a chrome lip and it looks hot, everybody turns their heads and give props all the time. we all know that chrome goes with black. so i got chrome tails and dual chrome exhaust, and intend on getting a chrome gas door cover. you can't have enough chrome, and it looks chill. it sounds like you won't have a problem buying anything. i'm with you bro. i don't care for the neon, i had the money to walk away with it so i did, and i'm just working with what i have. good luck bro

yeah i was thinkin about 18"s but i think thats too big. i was thinking maybe after i put the rims on there that i would lower the car to really set it off. i was thinking eyelids too? that would give it that "agressive look"

18z really aren't too big, i know it sounds big but it looks as if it should be. i have a couple of buddies with eyelids on their neons and it looks good, not a huge difference, but it looks good, i'm going to have them done soon, it's so easy to do yourself so don't spend the extra bro. when a car is lowered, even with eibach springs the ride is junk, it gets so choppy. believe it or not i have two buddies with black neons, both 03's, so they look just like ours. one has 17z and lowered, it looks good. and my other buddy had 18z snd lowered and the 18z lowered just looked so much better. now i have his 18z and i haven't lowered my car and it looks good, but if you get 17z you will have to lower it to get a decent look, but you sacrifice your ride quality.??? so many choices huh??

honestly, if you don't really like the car, and don't plan on driving it for very long.. why put money into it? save your money, or use it for something else.

I agree! Why spend money on something you dont like!
I do want to say this in my few years of driving my ACR I have had the pleasure of handing a few v-8 trucks their ass, They can't keep up with a neon especially on a two lane road with turns.
If you want speed Id not get above a 16 inch wheel. Anything over that and you loose a good bit of power.It's just a 4 banger.And dont lower it more than 1.500 inches,or you will bottom out the shocks.(NOT GOOD)!
For a few extra bucks and some work that neon could smoke any stock v-8 you may encounter. STREET OR STRIP!!!!!!!! later jus thoght id give my two cents worth.
