I know it comes with a 3.8L. What gas milage does it get, and does it need the supreme gas or regular unleaded? Also, If you have owned one or still have one What are positives and negatives.
Thank you

Gas mileage varies around 16 to 19 according to EPA, but expect it to be a lil lower if you do alot of city driving. It'll run on regular so there's no need to put in anything higher than that. Overall the engine is relatively bulletproof as long as you perform the regular maintaince on the car. The only weak point that any Caravan owner will prolly tell you is the tranny since it's not as robust as other parts of the car. With the tranny, make sure you follow the maintainence procedures and use the EXACT tranny fluid specified....don't mess around on it or else you will pay dearly...

Well we looked at the 2000 CV today and it was a disappointment. Leaking valve covers, a/c clutch squealing, and the harmonic balancer was totally moving back and forth like it was ready to fall off..

Note: It said it was the sport which I thought came with the 3.8 but it was only a 3.3??????

Still searching :(

I have a 2000 Grand Caravan Sport and it came with a 3.3. I think a Sport model had the option to have a 3.8....but don't quote me on that.

Not *any* caravan owner.

In the mid 90's the problems with Chrysler 4-speed transmissions were mostly taken care of. Today, Chrysler's 4-speed transmission is just as reliable as any electronically controlled automatic transmission. That said, any transmission performs better if it is taken care of.
