The one above looks like a really good deal! I would go with 99 or up cause that's when I heard the head gasket problem was fixed.

Yeah, I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus ES 2.5L V6 with Auto Stick. And yes, many people have turboed the 4cyl. A guy on Stratusphere had a supercharger on his V6 but it was too much so he went to a turbo. So yes, there are many things you can do to the 1g's, there are several different types of body kits and stuff for them too.

P.S. 1g's have had a history of head gasket problems that were fixed by 1999 and have had a history of tranny problems around 60-70K miles, but I have 70K on mine and it's fine, a friend got 115K on his before his tranny went.

P.P.S. I LOVE MY STRATUS!!!!!!!!!:D  :)

only bad thing with a V-6 is that they only have leather interior.. at least on the '00 models.. that's why i went with the 4 cyl, plus you only get like 40 extra HP with the 6.. not worth my money!

Yeah, here's what you do, get the 2.4L, do a 5speed tranny swap from the 2.0L, THEN you'll be good to go!!! :) My 1999 doesn't have leather (2.5L V6) so it must just be '00 up.

i had a '99 Stratus SE with the 2.4L DOHC/ATX i hooked it up with an Intake, UDP, cat-back exhaust, and other small goodies, and i had no problems at all getting up to and hitting the 110 mph cut-off.. you can build up the 4 cyl's.. and its alot cheaper then building the v-6's, and there is like no aftermarket fer the v-6's fer the 1G Clouds..

if you can go to an auction you can probably pick up a 98 with about 50000 miles on it..for about 2 grand.. (or at least thats how much they are down here in FLorida)

I used to own a 98 Breeze, 2.4L, and I found it pretty decent for a 4 cyl. In the city there was pretty good pep and on the highway I found there was ample power.
