:D I have a 02 QC 4x4 with a 4.7L and 3.55 gears. I'm just getting ready to order from Tires 2 You BF Goodrich LT 285-75-17 TA/KO tires which are 33" tall and only 11" wide. these I was told would fit on my stock aluminum wheels and clear the A arms. I read in this forum that if I went to the 33-12.50-17 which are 12.5" wide I would have to have a different back spaced wheel. Has any one done this? and if so have you done it with the 3.55 gears. I see on the gearing chart that it will drop my RPM aprox 200. Will this make my truck to doggy at take off? I'll try to post pictures after I get them on if I can ever get the dang things to download to this site. Ive tried before and I keep getting Errors.:dunno:

I don't see why you would have to put a set of wheel spacers on the rear... The tires being 12.5" wide really don't matter cause you're fitting them on a wheel that's made to fit in that area. I don't think the RPMs or even performance really would be affected cause the stock tires are 32.5"s and you're putting on 33"s...

Actually my stock tires are Goodyear GSA P-265-70-17 and according to Goodyears website they are 31.5" tall.

Oh yea, didn't notice the 1500 part. Either way... it still wont really affect that, nothing that you'd be able to tell unless you just obsessed yourself with tryin to find it. There still wont be any problems with the tire size and the gears you have will work just fine... I had the stock gears in my '98 and I had 38's on it.

I'm running ProComp 33/12.5-17's on stock, chrome clad steel wheels for my winter tires....No rubbing. I can't comment on how they would do with 3.55 gears as I have the 3.92 gear set.

Just curious if you added a lift before sticking those 33's on your Ram. I've got an '03, 2500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 that I'd like to put larger tires on but I'd prefer not to add a lift because the truck would be too tall for daily use around town. I've only got about 3" of overall height to spare so I'm thinking 35's are the max but I don't know if those would need a lift too.

Nope...no lift. No offense to those that lift their trucks, but I'd just rather not lift mine. It's a '03 1500 QC 4x4 and the 33's fit just fine.....since they fit mine, I'd bet they'd fit a 2500 with no trouble. Can't comment on the 35's on 2500, but I know they'd require a lift on a 1500.

The 2500's stocker tires are about 32.5"s... 33"s will fit in there no problem. I'm debatin on wether or not to try a coil spacer and fit 35's on my truck when I do a tire wheel package. Hopefully someone will have tried it by then. Most likely if they'll fit... I'll do it.

I talked to the gentleman at Performance West in California last week, they are the people who designed the Ramrod and the police and fireman trucks for D.C. There firemans truck was listed as a 1500 QC 4x4 with 35" tires. I called to see if they lifted it or what they had done. They said they had done nothing except use a wheel with an extra 1.25" of backspacing and the 35" tire. He said they had no problem with any clearance issues the only problem they had was there truck had the 3.55 gears and the truck was now real doggy off the line until the RPM's get up. He would not recomend it without a gear swap. If a person had the 3.92 gears he said they would have no problem. When I called and ordered my 285-70-17 (33") at Southeastern tire on the web (tires 2 you) they told me they have a great deal on black wall LT315-70-17 BF goodrich TA/KO which are 34.5" tall for $120.00 each plus $21.00 each UPS. They are the same tire that is stock on the new Hummer 2.Thats $30.00 each cheaper than the BFG I'm buying in the 33". I just dont want to contend with the gear swap. If anyone needs the tires 2 you web sight send me a I.M. note.:D

They got 35"s to clear on a STOCK 1500 with no clearance issues or rubbing??? Just lookin at my 2500 it looks close. I'd recommend you tryin on a pair first before you order them and get them to your door if I were you. And 120 for 35" AT's... damn that's a good deal.
