:STY:
I have been looking around to find out if the valve covers & the top of the air cleaner on my 360 for my Warlock is the same as Lil Red Express (chrome) or if they are painted??? I have the Motor all together and I saw a right up on the lil red motor ,having chrome valve covers as well as top of air cleaner and was wondering if the Warlock was the same.. Mine has been (Basturdized ) so much and stuff stolen I don,t know where to start.... But I do know it is a original WARLOCK, just one that has a lot of pieces missing..... Thanks for your help

The Warlock 360 engine was a 2bbl only application and was painted completely blue.
The 360 4bbl premium engine was only available in the Lil' Red package.

I Remember my 77 Warlock 4X4 like it was yesterday, damn I wish I still had that truck:(

Hey Six pack
my 77 Warlock came with the same engine as the Lil Red
360 with a 4Bbl 727 trany with mild shift kit and a 91/4 diff here it is also has the dual snorkel air cleaner and those did not come on a 2 bbl carb

Looks like your almost ready to go!
What is the 5th digit of your VIN# so I can check?
Is that a Chrysler air cleaner? It looks very Fordish. The Lil' Reds snorkels were straight out from the main body, they did not droop down like that.
Are you going to switch to a clutch style fan? This was standard equipment on many of DC's ultra performance package cars or those that had A/C.
It will definitley make a lot less noise than the one you have on in the picture and save you some horsepower:)

Hope this helps:)

Here is a very original Lil' Red engine compartment

I have looked through all of my original 1977 service manuals and the "S" in the fifth digit doesn not show up as a production available engine.
My other code book shows the "S" engine as a 360 with W2 cylinder heads and aftermarket aluminum intake and holley carb.

So if your truck truly does have an "S" in the fifth digit of the VIN I would love to have a picture of it(the VIN)# and get it documented with Galen Govier for his Chrysler registry.

later;)

Oops, the break down;
D=2 wheel drive conventional cab
1=100 series(½ ton)
3=conv cab with utiline box(stepside)
B=GVW, 6,001 to 10,000#
S= told you already
7=1977
S=Warren truck #1 assembly plant
last 6 digits are assembly sequence number
