I'm currently running stock 265/65R17 tires on the D. I'm thinking of plus-sizing to 20 inch rims in the future but I'd rather not change the wheel diameter too drastically. I was wondering how others have fared in their plus size endeavours, especially with these tire sizes (i.e., rubbing, mileage, and satifaction or dissatifaction in general). Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

295/45/20 is your best option. Stock 265/65/17 is 30.5" tall, 295/45/20 is 30.44" tall.

I have 20" wheels and I am running Fuzion 265/50/20 as I started out with 285/50/20 and they hit the inner fender well in the front over big dips in the road or into parking lots. The 265 size is almost identical to the factory height tire but wider.

Is your D 2wd or 4wd? I noticed that the 265/50R20 diameter is really close to stock size too. I'm still leaning towards the 295/45R20s but if tire width becomes a factor, it's good to know that the 265/50R20s will work. If I get my hands on one of those Superchips programmers that would adjust the tire height settings on the D, I think I'd get the 285/50R20s to fill out the wheel well more.

Mine is a 4wd limited with a Hemi. What happens is over big dips in the road the front tires rub on the inner fenders and it makes a bad sound. The speed, etc is not an issue with such a slight change. Here are the numbers:
245/70/17's are 9.65" Wide x 6.75" Sidewall Height x 30.50" Overall Height
285/50/20's are 11.22" Wide x 5.61" Sidewall Height x 31.22" Overall Height
265/50/20's are 10.43" Wide x 5.22" Sidewall Height x 30.43" Overall Height
My concern for the 285's is that if it scapes the inner fenders on road at normal speed over larger dips, what if it traveled further, it would bend the front fenders out or cut the tire as the 285's also stick out past the fenders an inch or inch and 1/2. I had the 285's first and made the tire company swap them out. Also I love my Fuzion tires which are a performance brand of Bridgestone, they grip really good and look very cool.

I'm glad the 4WD has 265's. I would think that 245's would look a little small on such a large vehicle.

Correction - My door tag says factory tires are 265/65/17 which have the following dimensions - 10.43" Tread width x 6.78" Sidewall Height x 30.56" Overall Height. Also if you check Tirerack.com they recommend the 265/50/20 as the direct upsize replacement for the D. The 285 simply has to wide of a width to fit in the fenders on large bumps/dips in the road. On top of the width it is also taller than stock which does not help either.

Wheels are sold in different offsets to handle Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and sometimes listed as 4 wheel drive. I am just saying the the wheels I bought and installed on my D are Akuza Creepin 20's and they can be seen on their website in the RWD section as they are made with a offset for RWD vehicles but do work fine on the All Wheel Drive D.

If you are talking about the available tires from the factory the difference is insignificant
245/70 17 = 30.5" diameter
265/65 17 = 30.6" diameter
265/60 18 = 30.5" diameter

When I go 20's it will be 305/50/20, or even 305/55/20. Toyo makes SUV tires in this size. The reason for this is my desire to keep as much sidewall as possible so the ride doesn't suffer quite as much.
I do understand it will though off my speedometer, but hopefully a tuner will be out by then so I can correct it. This is a later in the year upgrade for me.

Your the first person on here that I have seen that said the 285/50/20's rub.
