i have a 98 ram 4x4 1500 sport and was wondering what trans would be the best replacement for mine? i am very hard on trans and would like somthing that is gonna hold up to alot of abuse... or should i rebuild the one i have and beef it up? i can install a trans just not rebuild it myself.. so am looking to buy perforamce trans and throw that in.. any suggestions?

B&M Turbo 400 is a great high performance trans but don't know if there is a fit for your engine... do you have a 360?
Other than that, I really like OEM but if you are hard, meaning always into the throttle and not for towing, then you could spend lots of $ on a replacement. Still, I think OEM is better investment unless you have "burning" reason to race anywhere you can.

If looked after and serviced frequently there is no reason that it shouldn't hold up.
Unless of course you are talking about flat out abuse:dunno:

what trans do you have? the 46RE is really a good trans, some shift flairs everynow and then, but it really is strong, if it's not a 46RE based on a (727)and it's a 42RE based on a (904) you could swap in the 46RE pretty easily....
