Looking for more power for towing increased mileage and throttle responsiveness out of your Diesel ?

How about this:

Ads say it increase horsepower (up to 100hp) and torque (up to 250 ft lbs).

for more info:

Anyone use one of these? I have heard that they shoot your EGT's through the roof unless you also increase boost.

they say if you run a 50hp nitrous kit with it make a huge difference in the egt
temps by keeping them low nitrous can save a motor that is runnin lots of propane from a melt down. they say you can never run a diesel too LEAN but to make the power you need to burn the fuel and propane helps that a huge amount.

'bout a week or 2 ago I saw them install one on the TV show "Trucks" They also installed a nitrous kit and a bunch of other performance stuff. Worked out pretty good with I think almost 500hp and almost 900 ft lbs or something at the wheels.

I prefer the old natural way of getting power. These trucks have the capability of over 700hp WITHOUT NO2 or propane. I have increased the power in my 12valve from 180hp to 304 with $600. Actually you can get around that for less. I've put in a #6 TST fuel control plate, and changed the exhaust side of the turbo. I want more....so now I'm going to run bigger injectors. They are only $400. I met guys yesterday that have WAY less than the price for that propane kit into their trucks and are getting better power gains.

crazycooter has it right. Pane is for Fords that are uncapable of attaining over 450hp without it.

CrazyCooter1978 I agree with your thinking.

But a properly installed propane system could be good for a diesel. It can give you a cleaner burn and it can give you lower EGT’s.

An amateur setup or someone who does not ask the right questions could do great damage to the motor. Every time the word propane is brought up I cringe because the first thing someone thinks is “can I get the barbeque tank to fit this” and most try. This is one of the worst things a person could do to a vapor system and most systems on the market today are vapor.

There are two types of systems on the market today. Vapor and liquid.

Vapor cost less to install (that’s what the above system is) for the unit but the tank is what you should be concerned with. You could spend 800.00 just for the tank and as much as 1500.00 for a real good one. Now your cooking.

Liquid is safer to use but cost more and is much more labor intense to install.

Most people do not even consider this nor do they care. They just look at the 100hp and the 649.95 costs and say yeah lets do it.

Where to begin?

I have run the PowerShot 2000 for a year now.

100 hp is turned up way too much should be more like 80 hp rear wheel.

I was told by the owner of the diesel performance that sells the powershot that my EGT would drop about 50 degrees and that I could get 2-4 more MPG.

Well there is a problem with this I never saw either of these things happen, because of the size of the tank not the powershot system.

The tank is key to a vapor system there is not much to the rest of it. No one tells you this. The bigger the tank the better the system works and the more you will be able to use it.

I will include a shot of my tank the problem is there is not enough vapor to effectually run the system on a daily basis under load, I would run out of vapor in about one minuet of driving under a heavy pedal. 7 hrs of total driving time and the tank would be empty this is a 15 gallon tank ˝ of which would be vapor the more liquid you take out of the tank the more room you have for vapor, the more vapor the more at one time you can use. I would have to go to a 30 gallon tank about 2/3 would be vapor this would be far better that the 15 gallon tank I now run.

But I have to say that if I only use the propane for “special” occasions then it would last about a month.

It cost $1.50 per gal or about $9.00 to fill up and yes it does work great if tweaked in properly, it is very touchy to humidity and temp and how much in the tank liquid and vapor. And there is more to it as well. But I think I will stop there and allow some to ask questions and go from there.

I can't drop in a jpg shot?
