My 98 Grand Caravan which I recently purchased did not come with a remote but the other day while in a parking lot waiting for my wife in the store all the locks popped open and the interior light came on. Shortly afterwards a PT Cruiser pulled out of the parking nearby.

Can it be that my caravan is wired for a remote and that the PT cruiser used the same signal?

Thanks
Scott

PS: If so how can I get a remote?

Entirely possible. A friend of mine had a blue 78 Impala about 15 years ago. He came out of the shopping mall one day, stuck his key in the door of a blue 78 Impala, opened it up, got in and couldn't figure out why the other key (GM was in its two-keys phase then) wouldn't start the car, until he looked around and realized there was stuff in the car that wasn't his. Spooky. His car was about 10 spots away.

There are a finite number of key-cuts and there are finite number of remote frequencies, too.
