After cranking the engine , to confirm that the camshaft was actually moving , I then proceeded to troubleshoot the iginition system. There was +5V at the ignition coil supply cable , and camshaft / crankshaft position sensors. I then changed the ignition coil , but with no luck. Since I did not have an oscilliscope , I then changed the camshaft / crankshaft sensors. Now I think that I have changed everything that should have resolved this problem , short of replacing the entire wiring for the above mentioned parts. The only thing I can figure to change next , would be the PCM itself. Is there something that I am overlooking here?

check fuel injectors? My Lumina had a similar symptoms. Disconnect them put an ohm-meter across the leads. They should all read pretty close, don't remember the proper range, just look for one or two that's different or more specifically read 0 or shorted. The Mech told me basically the ECM may not fire the injectors if it detects a short to prevent frying the fuel injector drivers. If it's not injecting fuel why fire the plugs? Probably woun't help, but it's easy to check, and a possibility to rule out. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion Mitch, but it turns out my worst nightmares came to life and it ended up being the PCM , like I suspected. The PCM never provided the ground signal to the ignition coil , to fire the plugs. That ground signal was finally provided by the mechanic that I took it to {only after about 2 hours of head scratching and attempting to replace the same parts I had already replaced and neglected to tell him , but had the receipt on hand , in case of dispute. [ HEY , HE'S the expert. RIGHT!!] Anyway , the damage has been done and another valuable lesson has been learned. Even after changing the three main players of providing spark to the plugs ( assuming the problem to only be no spark ) , I still did not want to accept that the culprit was the PCM , shell out the $$$$ and replace it myself. I ended up having someone else come to the same conclusion and CHARGE ME FOR THAT PRIVELEGE!!
