85 W150 makeover?

Hey guys,
Just recently bought an 85 W150 for my 16 yr. old son to drive to school.. With gas climbing, I was curious if there was a legit swap available for a trans w/ OD for this truck. Any advice?

You may be able to adapt the A518 (A727 w/OD) to fit the 4x4 configuration. As a matter of fact you could get the transfer case and trans. out of say a '93 or '94 Ram. Not sure if it would be a "bolt in" swap, but it's worth looking into.
