98 G.Caravan OEM Amp

Ok guys, Here's on for you

Has the stock Cassette player in my GC, when ever I turned it up lloud it would cut out. Didn't care really, cause I was swapping radio's....Finally got arount to putting in the new deck tonight.......Still does it. So I'm assuming that I have a bad OEM amp. Anyone know where this damn thing it and how to fix the problem?????

well it sounds like to me a shorted speaker, factory amps in these vehicle only runs the door speakers and rear shelf speakers, the deck runs the dash and rearmost tweeters by itself, so if your amp was cutting out then you would still hear treble fron the 4 small speakers, thats what happened to my buddys '96 anyway when he hooked up pioneer stereo and forgot to connect amp turn on wire

your van would have Infinity Gold written on the speaker grill on the front doors if it was equipped with a factory amp and would have 8 speakers in total
