Welcome to my hell. What exactly does it sound like? Metal to metal poping? does it do it when you turn or break?

Tazz , it's a clunking noise going over bumps fast or slow, like a ball joint going bad.....

If it only happens when it's cold, it's OK. The front bushings are made of rubber, and when it gets cold, then harden. That's what the sound is.

Mad, thanx for the reply, but it makes noise when hot too. I'm leaning towards a strut....not a front coil strut but a stiffener dodge attaches to the lower control arm....??????

I have the same problem happening with my wife's car (98 ES). It's been going on for about 2-3 years. I hear a "pop" when entering driveways or turning over a speed bump. Sounds like it's coming from the passengers front strut. I've had it checked by a couple of shops and they can never find the problem!!!

It's frustrating let me know if you learn anything.......:dunno:

I got a guy to find the problem. It is metal to metal. I will try to take a picture of it to show you folks.

Rambunctious318 and Tazz, you got it thats the noise. Speed bumps really gring it out, a pop when backing out of the driveway. If you figure it out please post it ....Thanx

I think it could be a control arm bushing but it's not possible to say without driving it & hearing it.

How many miles on the car?

Has the car ever been in high water?

:pimp: By any chance, do you ever feel any vibration in the steering wheel when it makes this noise? I had to replace the drivers side steering linkege that connects right to the rack and pinion on my wifes 97 3.5 litre. The inside bushing (right side) was almost completely gone.

Bingo that is the problem. THE BUSHING DETERIORATES TO NOTHING. Metal on metal.
