I bought a new dodge Grand Caravan a few weeks ago. The promotion run by Daimler Chrysler states there to be 60 months interest free PLUS no payments for 90 days.As it turns out, there are no payments for 90 days.. But then the cost of the car is spread across only 57 months. So basically the consumer does not gain anything at all(No payments for 90 days... but higher payments for the remaining 57 months). It is only a gimmick by DC.Way to go!! I guess DC beleives in insulting the intelligence of their customers.
Also, there is a promotion of a free DVD system with the Caravan.Three months after the purchase of my vehicle, the dealer is still trying to get me this. They blame it on DC.
I have written to the VP of customer service at Daimler Chrysler. I wonder if I will get a reply.

I hope they come through for your quickly on that DVD promo. I'm sure they will, or it would be in poor taste if DC doesn't.
On the other issue, about the 90 days payment free, I never believe in those. No matter who you go with it is a "gimmick". It is just a different way of paying.
I have learned the hard way that those "don't pay event" are true in a sense, but eventually you do have to pay somewhere down the line, if not now it is later.
I remember years ago when my mom bought her 95 Caravan. The ads were saying something like "low monthly payments". Well we checked it out and guess what ? It is true, for 5 years the monthly payments were extremely low, like 200-300 a month. But guess what ? At the end of 5 years you still owed money on the vehicle so at that point you have a choice of either paying it out or refinancing for another 5 years, so in total it takes like 10 years to pay for it.
Just do what I do. Ignore those ads and gimmicks.

It's still at 0% interest so there is no additional costs for not repaying it quicker.
I have the DVD in my 03 grand=SWEET:ylsuper:

Writing to Daimler Chrysler did the trick for me. They came through for me and resolved all the issues.:)

Glad to hear it, I always tell my customers that a nicely worded letter mailed to Chrysler will get them far more than I can do for them.
