I need to know how to clear the "check engine light" from my instrument panel. I have checked erg, pcv and all other guages and all are okay. I don't want to have to pay $75.00 just to short out a plug.

Try pulling the negative battery cable off for a few minutes and see if the light stays off.

How many miles are on it? My 85 Ramcharger's light came on it there is a box behind the glove compartment that you have to replace a 9V battery & use a pen to reset the button. It's set up to go off like every 50K miles or so.

Try this...
On 1983-86 Pick up Trucks and Ramcharger, the module is located to the right of the steering column. On 1987 Pick up trucks and Ramcharger, the module is located to the right of the glove compartment.
Slide module from bracket.
Insert a small screwdriver into small hole on module case and close switch.
Remove module battery cover and install a replacement 9 volt battery.
Position module on mounting bracket.

This is great. I didn't even have to post my question and I found my answer. I had this exact issue with the '87 D-100 I picked up last weekend. I pulled the box, but the only hole I found in the box had the battery immediately behind it. I unplugged the box, removed the battery, waited a few seconds, and put everything back together. The light is now out. Will need to get a new 9 volt, that can wait.
