Ok, here goes......I recently replaced my radiator and trans cooler. I was having overheating probs and the dealer showed me where the radiator had a leak and kindly suggested putting in a new one for me for $600 , i kindly rejected that proposal and put one in myself and saved over $500. Anyway, i had a shop install the trans cooler and attach the lower coolant hose for me since i didnt have a lift to get to it properly and they discovered that the car was still overheating after everything was installed. Coolant is boiling up out of the resevoir and steam is shooting through the overflow hose. I confirmed that: they bled the system via the thermostat for a long period of time; attached all hoses correctly; the radiator was hot from one side to the other; thermostat was hot and operating as it should; water pump was inspected and not found to be the problem. They think the problem is back near the intake or the heater core. they say there must be an air pocket somewhere. Here is my immediate problem...They are closed on saturdays and even though they had my car all day friday, didnt start checking for the problem till they were about to close, so i took the car out of there so i can try to get someone to look at it today (saturday). Has anyone experienced this paticular problem?? I dont want to pay someone hundreds of dollars just to tell me it was something simple. What could it be? Its a 97 3.3 Any help would be very appreciated.
